ICCR stands for Indian Council for Cultural Relations. ICCR provides scholarships for students all over the world. The General Scholarship Scheme (GSS) is one of the most important and popular schemes of the ICCR for foreign students. Scholarships are awarded under this scheme annually to international students belonging to certain Asian, African and Latin American countries for undergraduate, postgraduate and for pursuing research at Indian universities.
HOW TO APPLY
Registration is online and forms are released between mid-January and early February. You have to sign up using ICCR portal and fill the form provided. While submitting the form, do ensure that you have provided your active mobile number because all the communication will be through the same contact number. Also, take care while providing email address and other details.
Degrees allocated are BBA, B. Tech, LLB, Fine Arts and many other bachelor’s degree.Candidates should have aggregate of above 60% in 12th grade.
Scholarships are available for the following courses:.
Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy, Agriculture, Arts, Science, Engineering, Commerce and Management, Law and other Applied Courses
MODE OF SELECTION
The students will be shortlisted and called for an interview. candidates will be called for an interview in mid- April.
In interview, there are written and spoken tests. In written test, it is more like dictation test. In interview, you will be asked basic questions regarding introduction, family background and other various topics.
Results will be out in June-July when colleges starts giving admissions.Then, the students who qualifys the interview will be selected for the scholarship.
